Meiji Wedding Kimono with Embroidered Cranes
This is a collector’s item from the end of the Meiji Era, approximately the turn of the 20th century. This is NOT for wearing, only display. The design is hand-embroidered Cranes, a traditional symbol in Japan for a long, happy marriage. The symbol of the crane represents fidelity because they mate for life; Japanese legend says the crane lives to be 1000 years old.
This kimono is old and delicate, with fraying on the top of the sleeves.
$950, shipping included within the continental U.S.
